Wisdom Words “Why? Mary was Chosen”

There are questions about why Mary was chosen to be the human vessel by which Father God planted the Holy seed Jesus. We only know a little about her life, but the angel Gabriel was very clear with God’s announcement to her.

[Luke 1:26-28 TPT] “During the sixth month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy, the angel Gabriel was sent from God’s presence to an unmarried girl named Mary, living in Nazareth, a village in Galilee. She was engaged to a man named Joseph, a true descendant of King David. Gabriel appeared to her and said, “Rejoice, beloved young woman, for the Lord is with you and you are anointed with great favor.”

As we know this announcement was an unexpected surprise to Mary, but the words grace and favor plus anointed depict a prechosen place that Mary was in.

[Ephesians 1:3-5 KJV] “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: according as He hath chosen us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will!”

“So the first answer to the question, ‘Why Mary? is because her vessel was chosen from the foundation of the world.” Think of it this way, God is the Father of all spirits, and He chose Mary to be born to Joachim (Father) and Anna (Mother) who themselves were very devoted and were upright in their faith to God. They were very devoted to train their daughter Mary to obey and love God’s Word. She was raised in an atmosphere where God’s Presence was number one.  Joachim and Anna must have known in their hearts that God had a purpose for Mary and that they were to keep her from the world so that she would remain sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s leading.

This is absolutely necessary that gentiles raise up their children to remain devoted and sensitive to God’s will and purpose. We in America have lost generations because of the outside world and culture of sin that dominates our lives. Even as Mary responded to the announcement of Gabriel, by saying, “Be it unto me even as you have spoken.” This must be our response to God’s voice when He gives us assignments in our lives. Mary was chosen before she was born and she was trained to obey and be sensitive to God’s voice by her parents. Because of these two very important principles she carried the Holy Child Jesus into this world. Finally, number three, she was given much grace and was highly favored by God to carry out His will and purpose for her life.

We can learn a lot about God and our relationship with Him by studying the Bible examples of humans; ordinary in the flesh, but extra-ordinary in Spirit. So, we also can obtain favor and grace by simply agreeing with God’s will for each one of our own lives.
