The Spiritual Battle

[Ephesians 6:10-12 KJV]

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armour of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles (schemes of evil) of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness (ignorance in people) of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

The Word of God reveals to us that we are not in a battle with people, but with demonic forces which influence them.

Many believers do not understand, nor do they comprehend the role that the spirit world plays in our everyday lives. Much of what is experienced in the natural world is manifested through the spiritual realm of influences.

All evil in the earthly realm comes from the demonic influence of the spiritual world.

Having a righteous perspective (outlook and understanding) is vital for the believer, in order that they may overcome every obstacle thrown at them to hinder and steal their faith, their hope and their love.

[1 Timothy 6:11-12 KJV]

“But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.”

The Apostle Paul is mentoring and encouraging his younger minister to flee the love and covetous pursuit of wealth and fame, but rather humble himself to Christ’s nature and ways.

To keep himself free from sin’s dominion, and to stay focused on Jesus Christ and His Eternal Salvation.

[Hebrews 12:1-4 KJV] puts this way of living in proper order and perspective (outlook and understanding).

“Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us (hold us back), and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

For consider Him that endured such contradiction (intense opposition) of sinners against Himself, lest you be wearied and faint in your minds. For you have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.”

True spiritual warfare is to resist the devil’s invitation to lose focus and faith in God’s Eternal Plan of Salvation.

Also to lay down your spiritual weapons.

To just give up on the hope of ever seeing and experiencing God’s greater glory.

The battlefield in your mind must be protected through renewed thinking in line with God’s Truths and be strengthened by practicing the Father’s ways of Righteousness and Holy Living.
